You can fill tabs for hours in Mirage League 3.28 and still be miles away from a good farming plan. That's the bit a lot of players miss. Loot is everywhere now, so it's easy to feel productive when your stash keeps growing and POE 1 Divine Orbs are the thing everybody actually measures against. But the old habit of judging a strategy by “how much stuff dropped” just doesn't hold up anymore. This league raised the floor so much that mediocre setups can look decent at first glance. Give it a few sessions, though, and you'll notice the gap. Fast, dense mechanics are pulling ahead, while slower, comfortable farming styles are quietly falling behind.

Why old income logic doesn't work now

The currency economy changed, and that matters more than people want to admit. Chaos Orbs don't carry the same weight they used to, mostly because the usual sinks aren't pressing on the market in the same way. So if your atlas plan leans on mechanics that mainly spit out Chaos or small-value currency, your returns look worse every day. That's why stuff like Anarchy or Domination feels awkward right now. Sure, you're still getting drops. That part hasn't vanished. The problem is value. You're taking extra time and extra risk for rewards that no longer justify either one. A lot of players don't notice this at first because the maps still feel busy, but busy doesn't always mean profitable.

The hidden cost of stopping

This is where the league really punishes people. Any mechanic that makes you stop and read, compare, choose, or manage tends to drag your profit down. Harvest is strong on paper, Ritual can still look tempting, and Ultimatum always has that “maybe this one pays” feeling. But in actual map time, they interrupt your rhythm. You lose pace. In Mirage, pace is everything. While you're checking rewards or picking plots, another player is blasting through more packs, more rares, more altars, more chances at raw value. It's not that choice mechanics are useless. It's that they ask too much from your time in a league built around constant killing. You feel it after an hour or two. The maps just don't flow.

What's actually worth focusing on

Blight is a good example of a strategy that feels safe but doesn't keep up. You park yourself, build towers, wait it out, and hope the chest explosion makes the downtime worth it. Most of the time, it doesn't. The same goes for side systems with lots of menu time. Even when the payout can spike, you're still spending too many seconds not killing monsters. If you want steadier money, the answer is usually simpler than people think: run mechanics that reward speed and scale with density. Empowered Essences do that. Boss rushing does that. Legion does it better than almost anything right now, especially with Mirage making those encounters even more rewarding. That's where the league's real momentum is.

Play for tempo, not comfort

A lot of “comfy” atlas trees are only comfy because they hide weak hourly returns behind constant drops. That's the trap. If your strategy feels relaxed but keeps pulling you into windows, lanes, or hideout management, it's probably costing you more than you think. The players getting ahead aren't overcomplicating it. They're cutting dead time, chaining maps, and sticking to mechanics that keep the screen full. If you need a quick way to support that kind of grind, plenty of players already know u4gm as a place for game currency and items, but the bigger point is this: in 3.28, the best strategy is the one that keeps you moving and killing without breaking stride.
