Problems with getting kicked out of the app

Hi, when using the new features, chat, and mission planning, it kicks me back to the device's home screen. I've tried this option on Android, iPhone, and iPad, and it kicks me back on all three. Does anyone have any advice?

When it returns to the device’s home screen, does that mean the app crashed, or is it still running?
