Suggestion: Open API Access for Developers

Quote

Hi Ares Alpha team,

As a developer (and active player), I’d love to suggest releasing API access to the app. My idea is to experiment with building custom game modes for fields and events, using Ares Alpha as a game event stream engine.

Specifically, I’d need to:

  • Read: periodic player location updates + POI locations

  • Create/Write: new POIs

This would open up huge potential for creative, community-driven game mechanics, scenario tools, and integrations that could make events even more dynamic.

Would love to hear your thoughts on whether API access could be on the roadmap!

Hi ,

Thanks a lot for your thoughtful suggestion and for sharing your perspective both as a developer and a player. Opening up API access is definitely something we’ve been discussing internally, as we also see the potential for more creative, community-driven game mechanics and integrations.

That said, building and supporting an API requires significant resources on our side, both for implementation and ongoing support. Right now, our main focus is on stabilizing the platform and working out sustainable monetization options. Once we’ve secured that foundation, API access is absolutely on the table for the future.

We really appreciate your input—it helps us shape our roadmap and confirms that there’s real interest from the community.

Best regards,
The Ares Alpha Team

In ATAK you can track real drones/quads. It would be useful by api to draw location dynamically for everyone where drone is currently, maybe just to let application to read/refresh some objects with coordinates from file and we will just on our side figure out how get it and store from the drone.
