Inviting by Email

I’m the Game Master for an upcoming game and I tried to invite my General by sending a link to him in a messenger app. He said that when he tapped the link, it just brought him to a QR code. Is that normal? Is it possible for the game master, general or other leaders to invite players/leaders to the game by email or text? If so, how?

Please try sharing it via WhatsApp, as this is the most common way to send links in advance.
Of course, the General will need to have the Ares Alpha app installed.
