General suggestions: Adding new POIs, MGRS, POI navigation and tracking

Quote

Hey! following up on the email I sent recently, I am copying its content here as you requested:

1) website: when editing a map, I can add a POI, but only by clicking on the map itself. I believe it would be useful if I could also add a POI based on given coordinates (MGRS or Lat/Lng). Several times I knew the coordinates, and I was moving added POI on the map to match with information I received and it's never so accurate. I believe adding this option would speed up and simplify the process - also for ASG game masters.

2) website/app: on the website I tried adding the grid lines on the map, but the way they work is tricky. Since most of the time we're working with MGRS coordinates, It would be handy to have the option of adding exactly 1kmx1km gridlines rather than rows/columns option and then trying to move them around to match that gridline to fit 1kmx1km squares. On the app on the other hand, when I click the MGRS icon it I can add that kind of gridline (which is perfect! - that's what I need). But unfortunately when I zoom in 1kmx1km gridline disappears and I see much more detailed grid, which makes the map unreadable. I believe it makes sense to have a dynamic gridline which depends on zoom in many situations, but what if we had an option to lock the 1kmx1km gridline regardless of zoom?

3) the app: using the "Go to location" option: a) Lat/Lng is always chosen as a default, although I have never used it - is there a possibility to choose the default? Every time I need to input coordinates I need to do the extra click to input MGRS coordinates; b) when adding a new POI through coordinates input, when I hit go to location it takes me to the location. I know that location is suposed to be in the center of the screen, but it's always a bit of guessing. What if after hitting "go to" that spot would be marked with some icon? Just to reassure the user with exact location. I thought also that if you're inputting 6 or 8 digit MGRS coordinates (so not full coordinates, not 1m accuracy, but 10m or 100m) - you're not looking for an exact point, but rather for a 10x10m (8 digits) or 100x100m (6 digits) area. After hitting "got to" the area should be marked with a rectangle so you can see exactly what you're looking for (currently when you input 6 or 8 digits and search for it you get the same result as with 10 digits - you guess it's in the center of the screen, but you're always guessing).

I also suggest to add an option to save the location searched this way as POI - many times I am inputting the coordinates, the app moves me to the location, and then I click on the screen to add a new POI, which never has the exact coordinates I have given as I am unable to locate the center of the screen perfectly with my fingers. I have worked out a workaround, where I am creating a new POI somewhere and then edit it's coordinates and save it. But it's far from effective to be honest.

4) the app: when marching, I sometimes need to know my coordinates (either to check where I am or to provide that info over radio to HQ). As a workaround I create a new POI on my location, read out the coordinates and delete the POI. But what if you could show my current coordinates next to the blue dot (or somewhere at the top of the screen)? Obviously not everyone needs it, but if you could toggle it on/off in the options?

5) the app: the blue dot representing my location - it would be great, if it could be changed to an arrow - it would really help to "find myself" out in the field. I've got the admit, that when I'm moving, there is a small arrow added on top of the dot pointing the direction of the movements, but it's really small and sometimes hard to notice.

6) the app: when I'm navigating to a given location, it would be massive if the app would draw a straight line between my location and a chosen point or POI on the map

Thanks once again for hearig me out.
