Respawn proposal

My Respawn proposal for players is based on a solution that we implemented on our earlier devices, where it worked very well. I really miss this functionality on the Ares Alpha devices.

Each player had an NFC card that was either empty at the start or already assigned to a specific side of the conflict. A Respawn device configured for a given side, after scanning the NFC card, performed two actions.

First, if the NFC tag was empty, it assigned the player to a side. This allowed control of devices in the field. You already have this functionality built into the application rather than the device itself.

The second function was that when the device detected that the player was already assigned (the player was “dead” and went to the respawn point), it wrote the current time to the NFC card/tag. Let’s assume the game organizer set the respawn time to 30 minutes. The player checked in at the respawn point, and the time was written to the NFC card/tag.

The player could then check on the device how much time was left before returning to the game. Scanning the card/tag again displayed a message indicating whether the player could re-enter the game (“Enter the game!”), or how much time was still remaining until the end of the respawn.

Going to the respawn point meant overwriting the respawn start time on the NFC card. Re-entering the game meant clearing the time stored on the card and leaving only the assigned side.

Introducing such a function, combined with the application, would beautifully present individual statistics for the side of the conflict, a squad, or an individual player.
